The Green Wolf

Be aware that this Tumblr frequently includes pictures of art made with animal remains, as well as rampant feminist opinions, corgis and bats, and lush landscapes.

Artist, author, (neo)shaman, and wannabe polymath living in the Pacific Northwe(s)t.

I discovered neopaganism in the mid-1990s, and shortly thereafter began my work with animal totems and neoshamanism. Over the years I've wandered through various paths, ranging from Wicca-flavored neopaganism to Chaos magic, but for the past few years I've been creating Therioshamanism, a post-industrial neo-shamanic path. I've also been creating various neopagan ritual tools and other sacred art from hides, bones, beads and other such things since about the same time. And I've written several nonfiction books on totemism, animal magic, and related topics. Currently working on "New Paths to Plant and Fungus Totems".

A few places to find me, as I'm all over the internet:

Taxidermy Crow

$365.00

I hate to be the barer of bad news but that seller is selling an illegal mount despite her claims.  She located in the US where Crows are protected by the Migratory Bird Act.  Crows can be mount by taxidermist since some states have crow hunts, but the mounts cannot be sold what so ever.  Even if its pre-banned or was purchased in a different country it is still illegal to sell it in the US.  I’m also pretty sure European sellers aren’t even allow to sell protected birds to the US if I recall, most of the one I know only sell within the UK.

This seller is also selling owls in her shop which even if they are pre-ban, she can’t sell those either.

What bothers me the most is that she has obviously gotten flak for her illegal selling and yet still insists that it’s legit when it isn’t. I almost want to contact a higher up over this but I wonder if it’d do any good.

Actually, if that IS a European species of crow, it is legal here in the states. However, the owls are absolutely a no-no.

Yo, shopoddities: here’s where you can find out about international, federal, and state laws regarding the possession and sales of animal parts.
